Overview

Killer, corniced ski run down from the Goethe's west saddle.

Getting There

Approach Goethe a variety of ways-
1: Over Paiute Pass to Goethe Lake
2: Skier's traversing Alpine Col (north or south bound) might want to make the side trip.
3: Day trippers might do as the author once did- approach via North Lake and Keyhole Plateau.

Route Description

Climb up from bottom, at east end of Goethe Glacier.
Or approach from above (after climbing or skinning the Southeast Slopes-) Cornice coverage will vary with the season, but if approaching from above, note that from the saddle there are two couloirs- the eastern-most one is generally better covered.
The route's "primary image" was taken immediately following a warm-wet storm with moderate and sustained SW winds- perfect cornice building conditions.

Parents

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
