Nice report and pics. I have a couple of questions about it. I've heard that the last 400 ft of the climb to Oklahoma's east ridge is awfully steep and somewhat loose. What did you think about this section?

Also, from the topos I've seen, it looks like the north ridge of K49 could be used as a descent to make a nice (shorter) loop. Do you have any input on the feasibility of that or images that show that north ridge?

Thanks for reading, BBarthel. Yes, the grunt up to the east ridge of Oklahoma was steep and loose, but not excessively so. I've seen a lot worse than that. There was plenty of grassy spots to take advantage of.

As for K49's north ridge, a friend of mine went up the north ridge a few years back I think (can't find his TR), and I think he said it goes at 4th class. It might be tricky going down that way. Good luck. This loop is fun if you can get a good weather window.
