We drove up the 4X4 road to the snow closure and hiked up to near the terminus of the mining road and camped on snow. In the early AM we geared up with our snow climbing toys and headed up to the Castle Couloir.
After Castle, we came down the connecting ridge and zoomed up the very easy climb to Conundrum's summit. Several people were up there and it was nice to converse with friendly Colorado hikers and climbers.
A fun day except for the chewed fuel gauge wire on my Xterra. Cost of wire replacement-- $170.
