Carrying a tripod in the backcountry would be ideal to capture those awe-inspiring photos that people drool over....unfortunately, good tripods weigh anywhere from 5-10 pounds. Not gonna happen. However, for the photo buffs out there, bringing a monopod on a climb isn't out of the realm of possibility. At only 13oz., you'll barely notice you're carrying this monopod...not to mention it folds up to the length of a 3 section trekking pole (if not a hair shorter). Holding a camera steady after climbing for a few hours can be rough, however a monopod makes the task about 100 times easier. At only $28, I couldn't pass this up....
