Route Description

Trail distance = 2.35 mile one way
Elevation gain = 1,375’
This is the easiest approach to the peak.
From the trail-head starting following the access road to the overlook fire tower in a east and northeast direction. The trail gain is gradual and offers a peaceful hike. After 1.75 miles the abandoned Overlook Hotel structure comes into view. After investigating the old concrete structure continue following the road for a short distance. until you intersect a trail leading off to Echo Lake (left), stay right here for the next .60 of a mile and the duration of the hike to the fire tower and summit.
This is an extremely easy hike and is usually done in combination with visits to the local shops in Woodstock.

Essential Gear

Comfortable shoes for the dry months and skis or snow shoes during the winter months.
