Route Description
From the locked gate, start walking up the main road. You’ll soon pass by a cemetary. Early on, there are a few forks in the road, but stay left at all of them and continue up the main road. The road heads southwest past Shloh Well and Ox Frame Tank, then into Ox Frame Canyon. After about two miles or so, there is a fork in the road. The left fork descends south towards Black Hawk Tank. The right fork heads northwest. Take the right fork and continue up the winding road as it climbs up the mountain. You’ll have a good view of the summit radio towers on Keystone Peak from here. Continue on the uneventful road as it climbs up, around, then behind Keystone Peak. Make the final push to the crowded summit, where you can enjoy the views.Hiking Distance: 8 miles roundtrip.
