They say a man is never too old to learn, and so I booked an advanced mountaineering skills course with the Dutch Alpine club. The course took place mostly in the Ötztal Alps, with a few days in the neighboring Stubaier Alps. Besides practicing, we put in a couple of fine climbs.

This album shows photos from the area around the Rofenkarferner and the Breslauer Hütte, where we practiced a couple of days, and then enjoyed a fine climb of the Wildspitze North face.

Enjoy!
Looking up the Wildspitze north face
Standing below the Wildspitze north face, with the NE ridge on the left and the NW ridge on the right. It's 250m to the top. Obviously, the middle of the face is less attractive, so we'll climb a little bit to the right of the rocks. But first we have to get across the bergschrund.

Parents

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
