I don't know when exactly you took this pictures but see how much less snow there is now than when I took the same shot on July 2, 2003.

Amazing!Were you on a trail? Or a peak? If either, which ones? We were backpacking in the Weminuche last year and were near Vestal but I never saw anything approaching that view!

Re: Amazing!I was hiking peaks - several 13ers - just south east of Silverton. I went on an easy ridge of 4 13ers, and the whole time had a views like this....
Whitehead Peak, Mt. Rhoda, and a couple of UN peaks (don't remember numbers).

Re: this viewThank you Vlad... the rock on those peaks is amazing... great multi pitch alpine climbing, a rarity in Colorado (typically a loose stuff), but Grenadiers are made for climbers....
