Overview

Our primary goal was NW face of Smrek, but since there was lack of snow on these slopes, we choose Plačlivé as our alternative. We follow the marked trail from Žiarská chata to Žiarské sedlo (1917 m) and from there we followed the ridge to the top of Plačlivé. We had to ascend some sections via western face, since there were very strong wind gusts on the ridge and it was almost impossible to stand right.
Being at the summit we choose western face as the best route for descent. There is a rock band at the bottom section, but you can ski down through wide gully. The inclination isn't exceeding 40°, so I would recommend this route even for beginners.

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
