Stubaier Wildspitze

Overview

The Stubaier Wildspitze is a rock mountain in the Stubaier Alps. From the summit you have a great view over Stubai and Oetztal. You can climb it by a the normal way on a sort of trail, but there is an very nice Eastridge to climb , 2-3+ rockclimbing. There was always a nice across to do, but after a downfall on the westridge, thats not longer possible.
On a good day with nice weather the climb is very nice. Its good climbing rock, not very heavy but you need rope, nuts etc. The gear for a rocktour.
The glaciers to this mountain have less crevasses, only smal ones.
You can come at the Stubaier Wildspitze from the Hildesheimerhut.

Getting To the summit

The Hildesheimerhut can be reached from Sölden in Oetztal. It is a long walk to this hut, but for the first part you can take a taxi if you like it.

From the hut you take the marked path to the Gaisskarglacier, you go up this glacier to the restaurant on top of it wre you can pass to the Windachglacier. Here you go right on the glacier to the rocks under the cablelift, as shown on the map. From there you go up to the eastridge. There is a trail in the rocks to the ridge, and there is a trail going up tothe summit that follows the Southside. If you want to climb the eastridge, you have to go straight over it. This trail is good to go back, if you follow this E-ridge. This is not an official or marked path, you need to be careful, not a hiking path!!!!

The hut

The Hildeheimer hut at 2899m is a very nice hut, good food and sleepingrooms. Its is very nice situated above a small lake. Next to the hut is an "Klettergarden" or Climbinggarden, to practice rockclimbing.
