Route Description

The trial length is only 1.2 miles but it can be fairly challenging depending on the shape you are in and the weather conditions. The trail climbs quickly up the mountain at a grade of 100 feet per tenth of a mile. The trail has many switchbacks and a few rocky sections that can be tricky. The views of the city, however, are excellent. There is a panoramic view of Phoenix from the summit.

Essential Gear

The only truly essential gear is water especially in the summer when temperatures routinely reach 110 degrees +
