Approach
After reaching Mt. Sherman's summit, follow the ridge north as it descends to a flat, grassy basin.
Route Description
The hike is very easy and the basin is soft and grassy. The southern side of the talused summit cone is the steepest. Trending to the east (right) and heading up the more gradual east ridge may be the choice for novice climbers. The route is about 1/2 mile from the Sherman summit, one way. The vertical gained is truly minimal via this route.
Essential Gear
The necessary gear is the standard 14er gear. If you are climbing early in the season, be prepared for snowfields and maybe a short snow climb. No special climbing gear is needed whatsoever.
