Location

Diablo canyon is a gem climbing area in New Mexico that is getting more attention as it becomes further developed. It is located 20-30 minutes from Santa Fe. I definitively noticed much improvement over the past 2 years, and less loose rocks.

Getting there: Get on Santa Fe Bypass route (Highway 599). Exit on Camino La Tierra and Las Companas. Continue on the road, and at about 4 miles turn to the right on the dirt road marked as Buckskin road. This dirt road takes you to the obvious entry to the Diablo canyon. It is about 12 miles on a good dirt road - no 4 WD or high clearance vehicle necessary.

This album contains photos from 4-5 different trips to Diablo Canyon (one was purely hiking trip, the splattski image was the day of my 39th birthday, and please do not vote on that photo anymore. There are much more interesting photos in this album).

Hidden gem

Since moving to Santa Fe, I come here sporadically to get some easier trad in and to run the wash down to the Rio.
Quiet place, lots of solitude.

Parents

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
