Overview
Weisspitze is a mountain in Venediger Gruppe. Surrounded by glaciers: Zettalunitz, Garanber, Frosnitz and Mullwitz , but ascent is avaliable to hikers without gear - in good weather conditions. It is situated south from main ridge of Hohe Tauern. Ridge descends to Virgental. From summit wonderful views of Hohe Tauern. On summit is cross with books of ascents.

Camping in Virgental: Hinterbichl (cheaper) or Pragraten (more expensime)
Good idea is to sleep in Eissehutte - 2521 m, half way to Weisspitze from Pragraten
Route
It is very long one day excursion, or nice two days - with night in Eisseehutte. To me - about 11 hours: up and down from Pragraten in fast pace. From Pragraten - inicially steep ascent to Timmeltal (many marmots) to Eissehutte. From here left - trail No. 923. Soon trail turn right, now you can see Weisshorn. Trail goes to little glacier under summit. You must cross it, and finally light climbing to the top.
