Approach


Start at the Mono Pass Trail trailhead about 1 mile west of the Tioga Pass entry to Yosemite National Park.

Route Description


This can form a loop with Mt Dana as a day hike from Tioga Pass entrance to Yosemite National Park. To do the loop decsend Gibbs via the northeast ridge.

Hike for about a mile along southeast along the trail through the forest up a gentle slope. Where you see a break in the tree cut east cross country and go up a moderately steep slope. Keep going up above the tree line. You will not be able to see the peak when you start off the trail but it's rounded top will become visible after a while.
