I flew over Alaska four times...The "white" one on the left looks a lot like
Mount Fairweather.
I always wondered WHY it was called Fair-Weather; SOMEBODY definitely had a
profound sense of humor! : ))

ThanksI have been there three times now. I have a 33% "clear rate". I'll check on the Fair Weather possibility.

It is Mount Steele......and the same photo is elsewhere in the collection, correctly marked. In 1990, 3 friends and I approached from Mount Walsh, out of view, up the nice glacier from the right (E), over the ~4300m sub-peak (just right of center) to our final camp close to the main peak. We had hoped to also summit Lucania (one ridge is in view, front left of picture) but had generally poor weather the whole 3 week trip -- running out of food before pick-up, actually!
