Route Description

Ascend east up open balds for 1700 vertical feet. Last 300 vertical bushwhack is steep, thick Rhododendron and cliffs that can be climbed or bypassed. This route is gains 2000 feet, is 4.5 miles RT, and takes about4 hours . Access is over private land, multiple owners and ongoing right of way dispute. This route lacks the sence of accomplishment one obtains when summiting the other routes, however it is steep. The actual route depends on the hiker. This is a great route if you can get permission, otherwise I don't recommend with the right of way disputes. (The topozone map is at the "TH". The primary image is the rigdeline near the summit.)

Essential Gear

water (route straightforward), UGSG 7.5 Elk Garden Quad for personel interest
