A Little About Me
Trail-running, mountain biking, nordic skiing, hiking...I love it all. Drop me a line if you're heading to Vermont.
I have been keeping it close to home for the past few months, doing trips that are in virtually right in my backyard that I haven't done in the 20+ years I've been in Vermont. Last summer I paddled the Allagash Waterway in northern Maine. This winter I have made some great backcountry ski trips, including a nice climb to the summit of Mt. Marcy followed by a rollicking descent..my first time up there on skis. Another trip through Avalanche Pass and a loop through the Cotton Brook Basin where I followed a moose for about a half an hour were highlights of the winter.
After finally "summitting" Britton Hill last summer in Florida, I am running out of state highpoints to climb. This summer I plan to do one more, Minnesota, as part of a month-long or more road trip to Glacier Park, Montana. Hopefully while I'm there I will find my way up Mt. Jackson, which foiled me back in my younger days (1989) due to bad weather and poor clothing. I'm also planning to increase my Canadian highpoint count to three by finding my way to the top of Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Exciting!
