Overview

the Pizzo dei Tre Signori is one of the most popular mountains of the Western Orobic Alps.

Its name tells the story of the area : some centuries ago it was the border point where the 3 "signorie" : Venice (now Bergamo province), Milan (now Lecco province) and Grigioni (now Sondrio province) met (or divide)

It is an easy mountain, easily accessible from its 3 main sides, along good paths that only require a certain effort due to the difference in elevation that is always over the 1000 m

I've climbed this summit, some years ago, during the Easter holidays, making one of the finest ski-mountaneering trips in the range (I think that only the one to Grignone can be compared as beauty and effort)

Getting There and accomodations

3 main ways to access it :

  • from Sondrio side (N) - along the Val Gerola
from the SS 38 of Stelvio Pass (Milano-Sondrio) exit Morbegno
follow for Gerola till Gerola Alta (1053m)
now you can choose two different routes leading to the Rif. F.A.L.C. (Ferant Alpes Laetitiam Cordibus)
the first one starts from Villaggio Pescegallo (1454m), at the end of the SS405 of Val Gerola (car parking)
the second one from Laveggiolo (1471m), car parking at the end of the road (Rifuge sign)

  • from Lecco side (SW) - along the Val Biandino
from Lecco, along the Valsassina road (SP62) till Introbio, once here you must find the road of Val Biandino and, using the car (not so easy and comfortable) or on foot, along the path 40 leading to the rif. Bocca di Biandino (1498m)

  • from Bergamo side (SE) - along the Valtorta
from Bergamo along the SS470 to Lenna, then the SP1, the SP6 and the Sp7 to Ornica (922m) wherefrom starts the path leading to the La Casera (1415m)
or, using the same roads till Valtorta Ceresola, folow for the Passo del Cedrino (1661m) and for the Rifugio Grassi (2000m)

    Parents

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
