A bit General
The Landranger series are excellent maps, their just not excellent maps for mountaineering. They are preferd by many because their scale allows display the shape of the mountains more clearly than maps of the 1:25km. However this scale also means that a lot of information that would be useful for navigation is omitted. In my opinion they are great maps for getting around mountain areas, but for mountain naviation they are just not quite good enough.
